The aim of this unit is to give learners an understanding if the key concepts of cyber security, allowing them to recognise and analyse security threats in a range of scenarios

\u300b Unit DCS702: Network, Infrastructure and Systems Security
<\/strong>The main objective of this unit is to for learners to gain an understanding of the various types of threats and vulnerabilities that can affect computer networks, infrastructure and systems, such as malware, hacking, and social engineering. It also aims to familiarise learners with various security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption methods.

\u300bUnit DCS703: Applications of Cyber Security
<\/strong>The aim of this unit is to for learners to learn about the security measures and defence mechanisms that are used to defend against and respond effectively to security incidents, breaches, and anomalies.

\u300b Unit DCS704: Security management and governance
<\/strong>The aim of this unit is to develop learners understanding of what constitutes effective
security management in relation to different types of cyber threat that can affect
organisations and individuals. Learners will have the opportunity to analyse and review a
response to a cyber security incident.

\u300b Unit DCS705: Cryptography<\/strong>
The aim of this unit is for learners to develop their understanding of cryptography, the
different cryptography tools and how and when these tools are used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning Outcomes of the QUALIFI Level 7 Diploma in Cyber Security<\/strong>
The overall learning outcomes of the qualification are for learners to:
1. Recognise and analyse sophisticated cyber threats.
2. Create strong security architectures for enterprises, taking into account elements such as network security, data protection, and compliance with industry norms and regulations.
3. Recognising the moral and ethical issues of business practice and research; appreciating the need for ethical standards and professional codes of conduct
4. An appreciation of the interdisciplinary nature of business and service provision
5. Capacity to give a clear and accurate account of a subject, in a mature way and engage in debate and dialogue both with specialists and non-specialists.
6. To develop transferable skills and knowledge.
7. To motivate individuals to progress to further professional development through future study or as part of their chosen career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a method of assessment (leading to the award of
credit) that considers whether learners can demonstrate that they can meet the assessment
requirements for a unit through knowledge, understanding or skills they already possess
and so do not need to develop through a course of learning.
